🔗 Share this article Vinted Members Share Frustration Regarding Sizing Updates Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing. This online marketplace has revised its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel without notifying all shoppers about the modification. Digital Channels Reaction Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification versus the original listing because of the remapping. The company said the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. The platform has recommended to review their products and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Measurement Approach Changes Previously, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Stories A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she explained. Manual Updates A different user, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: previously, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods due to shopper criticism.
